I guess we can get our minds off of things by touching each other inappropriately.

Hey there kids! What a month this has been! I have been so wrapped up in all this new job stuff, I have had virtually no chance to get blogs and such in. I am sorry. Here’s the latest.

Tom and I have been spending A LOT of time together. He has been slowly integrating into my home, and we have been doing a lot of things together. He and Snickerz have bonded, and now that he’s in school again, our schedules almost work out perfect. It’s nice that we are finally starting to understand each other a bit better. It’s the little things that I was worried about, and those seem to have faded.
For example, there was some concern about planning. I was worried that he would be offended or upset if I made plans with mutual friends that did not include him; after we talked, it was determined that we both really do enjoy some time apart, so it’s ok that we don’t include each other in EVERY little thing. He really doesn’t like LaCage, so that’s my thing, and he doesn’t get to hang with his roomies much, so that seems to be his thing.

Most of my time over the past two weeks has been at Kohl’s. If you haven’t been following, I am working at Kohl’s Corporate Office in the IT/IS Dept. I really enjoy it, but I have to say that they have been pulling me in ALL different directions. Again, I like the variety, but it’s a very ‘fly by the seat of your pants’ feeling. I am hoping it turns into something permanant, as right now I am hired as a ‘consultant’. According to the people I am working with, the last 2 people that were in my position were hired on full time for either this position, or for something in the same area. I am hopeful, but not expectant.

So, I have again resumed my non-smoking challenge. I am taking it in stages. I bought the gum (yuck), I stopped smoking in the house, I never smoked in the car. That cuts it out by a large margin, to be sure. Plus, and this will be a big one – The Kohl’s smoking area is 450 feet from the building. Basically, I have to walk alllllll the way across the parking lot to get to it. I am NOT going to walk that far in the winter, let me tell you!
